Oh, There’s My Gddamn Flying Car

Those of us who were born in the 1950’s and 1960’s, growing up when Ray Harryhausen was past tense famous, Lost in Space was in syndication and the Jetsons came on a block of Sunday mourning cartoons, remember that one of the staples of Science Fiction was that around the year 2000 we’d have flying cars and moving sidewalks (and sexbots, let’s not forget the sexbots.) So in completely ignoring the rest of the list we humbly have asked where the hell are our flying cars? Back in the 1980’s a company gave it a go by creating the Sky Commuter, a prototype vertical take off and landing vehicle that could only make it up to 10 ten feet before it wobbled and fell back to the ground like a spastic weeble. Since then the company has gone out of business, the prototypes were destroyed except one which is now being auctioned on ebay. For only 62,000 you could own that puppy so start saving now so you can be the first on the block to say you own a flying car – even if it doesn’t work.
